Believer’s Bail Out Iftar

Join us for a Ramadan iftar hosted by Believers Bail Out (BBO). This gathering offers a chance to see how Islamic ethical frameworks inform responses to injustice, supporting individuals and families impacted by the carceral system.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ

And do you realize what is the steep road?

فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ

It is the freeing of a human being from bondage

Join us for a Ramadan iftar hosted by Believers Bail Out (BBO). This gathering offers a chance to see how Islamic ethical frameworks inform responses to injustice, supporting individuals and families impacted by the carceral system.

The evening will include a short talk by members on the Believers Bail Out team, offering context on the prison industrial complex, its entanglements with anti-Blackness and anti-Muslim racism, and the ethical imperatives rooted in Islamic praxis that guide their work toward abolition. BBO’s initiatives span bail-out efforts, post-release support, and programs on political education, all of which rely on mutual aid and sustained community investment.

Designed as an intimate and welcoming iftar, the gathering will encourage guided conversation around Islam and abolition. Open to all who are interested in learning, connecting, and being in communal solidarity during Ramadan.
